MEDIATION

-

We take pride in working with our clients to help them achieve practical and realistic results. We will work closely with you to understand your matter and your needs. Then we will look at the legal and practical options available to you.

You don't always have to go to court to resolve a matter. There are alternative ways of resolving disputes which are less formal and, in some cases, leave you more in control of the outcome.

Mediation is one them.

Instead of going through a costly court process for which you will have to pay court fees as well as your legal representatives’ fees, mediation could prove to be a viable option.

THE ADVANTAGES OF MEDIATION

Unlike the court process which is formal, slow and usually in the public glare, mediation offers a quick, informal and confidential service, overseen by an independent and impartial facilitator. The mediator’s role is not to pass judgment on any of the parties but rather to ask questions which will help to uncover the underlying issues and each party’s needs. In this way, the parties are helped to clarify the options available to them for resolving their dispute and to reach a solution which is acceptable to everyone.

Mediation can be used to help resolve many kinds of disputes, including where there are debt issues, or where there is a breakdown in community relations. Williams Hortor will be pleased to be of assistance in helping you to resolve your matter through mediation.

"Abi is an immensely competent practitioner. She brings her wealth of experience and eloquence to bear in a way that highlights important issues which even adversaries have admired. Abi also comes highly recommended as a Mediator."
